Owosso Charter Township is located in Shiawassee County, Michigan in the central part of the Lower Peninsula.

Owosso Charter Township is a Charter Township of Shiawassee County. The township is approximately 32.37 square miles in size and has a population of 4765 residents from the 2020 census.

Owosso Charter Township includes the unincorporated communities of Burton along S. Baldwin Road, Five Points at M-21, Priest Road and Smith Road and Smith Crossing at Wilkinson and Smith Roads near the Great Lakes Central Railroad crossing.

Owosso Charter Township borders the western and southern boundaries of the City of Owosso is a residential, farming, light industrial, and recreational area and hosts the Shiawassee River for 2 miles.

As of the census of 2020, there are 4,765 people, 2,129 households in the township. The 2010 census puts us at 4,851 people, with 2,027 households and 1,365 families.

Owosso Charter Township is 31.7 Square miles with the population density in 2020 was 150.1 people per square mile.

There were 2,281 housing units with 93% occupancy and 74% are single unit dwellings.

The racial makeup of the township was 93% White, >0.01% Black/African American, >0.01% Native American, 0.005% Asian, 0.06% from other races, from two or more races.  .03% is of Hispanic or Latino Ethnicity.

As of 2010 the Median Age is 48.5 Years old with females making up 51.3 % and males making up 48.7%.  Age groups: 0-17 Years = 1,002; 18-64 years = 2,821; 65+ years = 998 people.
